Vinified primarily from the Luchsinger Vineyard in Kelseyville, with the remainder of the fruit coming from Bartolomei in Russian River. Trousseau is a thin-skinned variety, originating in eastern France but also grown successfully in the Iberian peninsula, where it is known as Bastardo or Merenzao. It produces a high-toned, edgy red wine, lightly pigmented, with a near-feral energy. Of the few Californian trousseau producers, Arnot-Roberts is the finest, and quantities are very limited.
