2019 Arnot-Roberts Gamay Noir, El Dorado, CA


Vinified primarily from the Barsotti Vineyard in El Dorado County, with the remainder of the fruit coming from the nearby Witters Vineyard. Duncan Meyers and Nathan Roberts vinify their Gamay Noir in the Cru Beaujolais tradition, allowing some carbonic maceration to take place before the wine is transferred to a combination of stainless tanks, concrete eggs, and large, old oak barrels called foudres. The finished wine is fresh and energetic, with food-friendly acidity and a savory finish. Perfect with aromatic, spiced meat dishes, or grilled vegetables.
